Project Details

Architect:
QS: Fulkers
Value: £250,000

Completion: 2016

Summary

The project carried out within the heart of a fully occupied and operational university campus within the Grade 1 listed Founders Building required the careful restoration and redecoration of the gallery area.  The gallery houses a collection of over 70 pieces of Victorian Art and our work required the careful restoration and redecoration including the installation of blinds and UV films to the windows and a new bespoke lighting system.  In addition our team undertook the careful removal, refurbishment and rewiring of the original chandelier lighting. The objective of the new lighting and blinds was to bring the natural light down to museum conservation levels to protect the artwork displayed there, however this lighting system also needed to be practical for other events held within the gallery which can be hired out for weddings and other functions.
