We are currently looking for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to the M&E project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and the company’s objectives. You will liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including the agreement of variations, claims and any other additional payments:
Description of the Role
Ensure robust accurate and timely cost reporting on construction value projects up to £6 million in value
Ensure accurate cash flow reporting
Carry out cost management including forecasting
Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans
Help ensure internal commercial processes are adhered to
Actively seek to improve processes and procedures
Evaluate terms and conditions of contracts entered in to and identify commercial risk
Ensure efficient engagement of supply chain
Build and maintain excellent client relationships
Manage subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting
Prepare applications for payments
Liaise with client, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments
Contribute effectively to other functions within the business and operational site teams
Work with site management for forecast predicted costs
Share best practice and be proactive
Maintain deadlines
Skills required:
Required
Previous experience in the electrical or mechanical construction industry (minimum of 4 years)
HND / degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
Familiarity with all forms of building contractors
Understanding of construction law
Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills.
Excellent organisation and time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable
Member of RICS or other professional body or working towards
CSCS card
