Architect: Frederick Gibberd Ptnsp
Quality Surveyor: WT Partnership

Value: £1.7 million

Completion:  March 2018

Summary

This project involved the refurbishment of the existing Dalby Ward on the fifth floor of the fully occupied Lanesborough Wing of St George’s Hospital. The refurbishment converted existing communal wards into separate rooms each with an ensuite facility. The objective of the refurbishment was to enhance Patient experience during their stay at Dalby Ward. Dalby is a ’holding’ ward waiting for patients to be moved to specialist wards around the hospital, each individual room was designed with a colour recognition system to accommodate individual needs of patients.

In addition, we created two-bed bays with en-suite facilities, utility, WC, pharmacy dispensary, clean storeroom, playroom and adolescent rooms and rooms within the Children's Assessment Unit.

Each bed bay was fitted with medical bed heads with specialist gases and electrical supplies. The works included installation of fire doors, interactive screens, fire alarms and all associated mechanical and electrical services.
