Imperial College | Vaults

Project Details

Client: Imperial College

Value: £0.7 million

Date: Summer 2021

Summary

The Vaults are situated under the main entrance to the South Kensington Campus of Imperial College. The area had previously been damaged and was suffering from considerable water ingress and poor connectivity.

Russell Cawberry stripped the whole area, a comprehensive tanking system was installed, all new ventilation, electrical points including USB carging, new lighting, wall finishes, flooring and furniture. Each vault has a large monitor with connections via dedicated.

The passage outside the vaults is extremely narrow and the head height was very low. Russell Cawberry worked with the designers and sub-contractors to reduce as much as possible the space requirements for vital ventilation, fire detection, power and data; serving the areas. The floor had to be lowered in some areas to reach the building regulation requirements.

Congratulations to all those involved in the refurbishment and waterproofing of Vaults 11-20 for the Imperial College Business School. Well done to Russell Cawberry Ltd, Kirsty Scallan, for another great project. Imperial College
