Summary

Internal fit out of the William Penney Data Centre which is a world class Data Science Centre. We were required to decant staff and users from the ground floor of the centre whilst phased works took place within the building which also remained fully occupied on floors above. We installed acoustic panelling, moveable partitions as well as glazed partitions, board room areas and a highly technical curved screen wall was also installed. Externally we constructed a new glazed front to the building together with a new glazed entrance canopy.

The works required a range of specialist packages and was highly serviced with extensive M&E. We worked closely with all our subcontract partners to deliver the project to a successful conclusion and in time for the official visit of the Chinese Prime Minister.

The project was completed within a 15 week programme. Access to the site was restricted with the Data Centre in the heart of the Kensington Campus in Exhibition Road. We worked hard to programme procurement schedules to achieve key installation and phases of the project. Imperial College have established and robust logistics management plans which we were required to adhere to in the delivery of all materials to the site.
